BIAM

Every BIAM art money note by Stephen Barnwell
is an original work of art. Each note is printed one
at a time on a high resolution laser printer, and
hand colored by the artist with colored pencils. No two notes are the same, as every artwork has
unique coloring. Stephen Barnwell's BIAM art
monies are created in series of limited edition designs. The design number is featured on the

notes as a "denomination", as well as the first digit
in the serial number. The serial number also
contains the year of production, and the individual art money number produced.

THE BANK

The Bank of International Art Money (BIAM)
was created by Lars Kraemmer in Denmark. The purpose of the Bank is "to introduce a more
humane global alternative currency from original
art. " Each BIAM art money is an original work
of art, not a print or reproduction. The fixed size of each BIAM artwork is 12 x 18 cm (4 3/4 x 7 inches). Each BIAM note also must bear the following information: the name of the artist, the serial
number (which includes the year of creation), the artist's signature, and the BIAM website address. According to BIAM's rules, each "note" has a fixed price of 27 Euros (about US$34) in the year of its creation. Every year afterwards, the value of the
art money automatically increases by 5 Euros, with
a maximum value of 57 Euros after seven years.

BIAM notes are sold here for only $30, since BIAM includes VAT and shipping in their price.
