The obverse of theThree Dollar note depicts the ironfisted Islamic revolutionary, Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini. After fomenting the turbulent Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, he created a theocratic government ruled by the religious clerics and shari'a law. This was the first time in Islamic history that clerics ruled a country directly, and this formed a new direction for the modern fundamentalist Islamic movement.

United States of Islam notes are similar to US currency size: measuring 2 1/2 x 5 3/4". They come packaged in standard US size archival plastic holders. Each Three Dollar note is printed on cream-colored paper stock by a high resolution laser printer and is hand finished by the artist. Every note has a unique serial number.
